In the name of God Amen. I Thomas Rixon of Aston Rowant in the County of Oxford Gentleman considering the uncertainty of this mortal life and being of sound mind and memory and understanding blessed be Almighty GOD for the same, Do make and publish this my last will and testament in the manner following (That is to say). First and principally I recommend my soul to Almighty God for the remission of my sins and my body to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executrix hereafter named and as to my estate and worldly effects I give and bequeath them as follows. Item, I give and bequeath unto my daughter Jane Rixon the sum of fifty pounds of lawful money of Great Britain to be paid unto her with twelve months after my decease. Also I give devise and bequeath unto my loving wife Mary Rixon All that piece and parcel of meadow ground called or known by the name of Court Mead??? Lying in the parish of Aston Rowant aforesaid and all the right and title of the same during her natural life. She retting it to my son Harry Rixon at the rent or sum of two pounds and ten shillings a year. But if it shall happen that my said son Harry shall neglect to pay or couse to be paid unto my said wife Mary the said rent or sum of two pounds and ten shillings Then it shall or may be lawful for my said Wife Mary to lett it to any other person without the hindrance or molestation of my said son Harry Rixon and from and immediately on the decease of my said wife Mary I give, devise and bequeath the right and title of the meadow called Court Mead as aforesaid unto my said son Harry Rixon and to his heirs for ever. ?? paying out of the same unto my two daughters Mary Pidding late Mary Rixon and my said daughter Jane Rixon the sum of ten pounds a piece (within twelve months after the said decease of my wife Mary) of lawful money of Great Britain. Also I give unto my said wife Mary that part of my messuage or tenement adjoining to the messuage or tenement wherein I dwell at Aston Rowant aforesaid known by the name of the New Built for her to dwell in during her natural life without paying anything for the same to my said son Harry Rixon. Also I give unto my said son Harry Rixon the sum of one shilling and lastly I give unto my said loving wife Mary all and singular my goods and chattels of what nature or kind soever which at the time of my decease shall be in or belonging to my said meassuage or tenement and I hereby nominate confirm and appoint my said wife Mary to be full and sole executrix of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me heretofore made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this first day to December in the twenty first year of the reign of our sovereign Lord George the Second by the Grace of God of Great Britain, France, Ireland, King Defender of the Faith and in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Forty Seven.
