In the name of God Amen. I Symon Cooper of Watlington in the County of Oxon labourer beinge sicke and weake in bodie but of sound and perfect memory praise be given to god for the same and knowinge the uncertanity of life on earth and beinge desireous to settle things in order do make this my last will and testament in manner and forme following (that is to say) first and principally I commend my soule to Almighty my Creator assuredly believing that I shall receive full pardon and free remission of all my sins and be saved by the precious death and meritts of my blessed saviour and redeemer Christ  Jesus and my bodie to be buried accordinge to the discretion of my executor hereafter named and as touchinge the disposition of all my temporal estate as followeth:

Imprim I give and bequeath unto my sonne Thomas Cooper all those eleaven acres of arable land lyinge and beinge in the commonfield of Watlington aforesaid and now in my owne occupation, together with all wayes easements commons prefitt and appartennces to the same belonginge or apperteyminge to have and to hold the said arrable land with their and every of their appartements unto the said Thomas my sonne his heires and assignes forever. Nevertheles upon this condition and the true intent and meaninge of this my will is that hee the said Thomas my sonne his heirs and assignes shall out of the land and premises before bequeathed will and truelie pay or made to be paid unto Margarett my lovinge wife her executors and assignes duringe the terme of her natural life the yearely rent or sume of three pounds and eight shillings of good lawful money of England at foure the most usuall feasts or dayes of payment in the yeare  vizs the feasts of St. John Bapist, St. Micheal the Archangel St. Thomas the aposle and the annunciation of our blessed Ladie St. Marie the Virgin by even equall portions or within fourteene dayes next after either of the said feasts the first payment thereof to be made and begin upon the same feast day that shall first happen next after my decease and further my will and meaning is that hee the said Thomas my sonne his heirs or assignes out of the before bequeathed premises shall or repay and deliver unto the said Margaret my wife yearely duringe the terme of her naturall life foure bushels of wheat, one bushel of marslin?, foure and bushels of barley of sufficient markettinge corne to be paid unto her att the feast dayes aforesaid by even and equall porcons or within fourteene dayes next after either of the said feast dayes the first paymenr thereof to be made and begin upon the same feast day which shall first happen next after my decease in manner and for me as aforesaid; But if my said sonne Thomas his heires or assignes doe not pay the said sums of three poundes and eight shillings yearely and alsoe allowe pay and deliver the corne before bequeathed to Margaret my said wife according to the true intent and meaninge of this my will/ it beinge lawfully asked or demanded, then my will and meaninge is  I do then give and bequeath unto the said Margarett my wife all my before bequeathed eleaven arces of arable land with all and singular and appartement there unto belonginge to hold unto the said Margarett my wife and her heires for ever. Item my will and meaninge is that Margarett my wife for her owne use shall have the sole and proper use benfitt of the chamber I now lodge in next adioyinge to the street and all the household goods and beddinge to the same belonginge and alsoe the reasonable use of all other my household goods as often as necessary occasion shall require with the necessary use of the fire duringe the terme of her naturall life shee makinge no wast thereof. Item I give and bequeath unto my said wife One hogg in the backside and halfe the pease now growing upon my acre in gall?ocs furlonge; all my poulterie in the backside; one box and one presse now beinge in my chamber, Item I give and bequeath unto my said wife two bushels of wheat to be paid unto her within one weeks next after my decease. Item the residue of all my goods cattell, and chattels unbequeathed I give and bequeath unto my said sonne Thomas Cooper which said sonne I make ordayne my sole and whole executor of this my last will and testament and I nominate and appoint my loveinge friends and neighbours Thomas Barlett thecoer? of Watlington aforesaid yeoman and Simon Benson to be my Overseers and I do pray them as much as in them lieth to see this my will is formed accordinge to my true intent and meaninge. In witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale on the three and twentieth day of May in the fourteenth years of the Raigne of our Soveraingne Lord Charles the second by the grace of God Kinge of England Anno Dom 1662.
