  In the name of God Amen. The thirde daie of September 1619 and in the seavententh yeere of the raigne of our Sovraigne Lord James by the grace of God Kinge of England, France & Ireland defender of the faith etc., and of Scotland the three & fiftieth. I Paul Woodman of Nettleton, in the Dioces of Sarum, Yeoman, being weake, and sicke in bodie but of whole minde, and of good & perfect memorie, thankes bee given to Allmightie God, doe make, & ordaine this my present testament, concerning herein my last will in manner and forme following viz.

Inprimis I commend my sowle into the hands of Allmightie God, my maker, santifier and redeemer trusting to obtaine forgiveness of my sinnes, and life everlasting by the shedding of the Blood of our Lord & Saviour Jesus Christe, and by no other meanes. And my bodie to bee buried in the Churche or Churchyard of Nettleton abovenamed.

Item I give and bequeath to the poore of Nettleton in money two shillings.

Item my wll is that my executor doe well, and trulie content and paie or couase to bee well, my trulie contentede & paid, to Joane Barnes, the daughter of William Barnes deceased (and Edith the wife of the said William, being my sister) the summe of Thritue poundes of ggod & lawful money of England, within sixe mothes next ensuing after the decease of my said sister Edith, if shee the said Joane Barnes be then living top receive it, or ells not.  (wch Edith is nowe the wife of Edward Cambridge & as is aforesaid mother to the said Jone Barnes.)

Item my will is that my executor doe well, and truluie content, and paie, or cause to bee well, and trulie contented & paid to my said sister Edith, nowe wife of Edward Cambridge or to her assignes the summe of three poundes of good and lawful money of England yeerelie & everie years during the natursall life of the said Edith without anie fraude or denial. And I give to Marie Smarte my sister, the wife of John Smarte teo bushels of barlie

Item I give, and bequeath to my two sonnes Pawle Woodman & Robert Woodman five poundes a peece, to bee paid unto them by my executor in the yeere of our Lord God 1623.

Item I give, and bequeath to my said two sonnes Pawle & Robert all the reswt of my goodes & chattels whatsoever unbequeathed to have & hold to them & to their assignes immediatlie after the decease of Joane my wife, and not before.

All the rest of my goodes moveable & unmoveable, my debts, legacies, & funeral expenses paid & discharged I give, and bequeath to Joane my wife, whom I ordaine and make whole executrix of this my last will and testament.

And I doe obdaine, and make Walter Eastwell gent, and Robert Snell yeoman overseers of this my last will, and testament, and I give to each of them for their paines a Bushell of wheate.
